When I graduated college from UT Tyler in 1994 I went to work for the Texas State Senate as a Legislative Aide.  After working for the State Legislature, I then decided to follow my first love – teaching.  I began my teaching career in 2000 and I was a teacher and coach in several districts across east Texas:  New Boston, Whitehouse and Harmony.  I then decided to work in the area of school administration and accepted a job with Longview ISD as the Director of Communications and Community Relations and after a few years was named Principal of Forest Park Middle School in Longview ISD.  Since that time I have served in either Central Office Administration or Campus Administration in Longview, Fort Worth and was fortunate to be named Principal of Gilmer High School in May of 2015.  I am about to complete my 6^th year as Principal of Gilmer High School.
