I am so excited to start my first year of teaching at Gilmer High School. I teach English III, Career and Academic Planning, and Principles of Law. I spent the last 17 years practicing law, and I hope to bring that experience as well as my love for literature and writing to the classroom.
I have a great little 7 year old son named Smith (pictured with me in my profile pic) and a little fur baby son named Lucky.
I grew up in Gilmer until I was 10, and I am super excited to be back and cheering for the Buckeyes again!! I would take going to one high school football game over 10 Super Bowls! There is nothing like Friday night football. Second to football, my next favorite thing is a fantastic hometown fair, so I hit the jackpot in Gilmer. Home of the Buckeyes and the Yamboree!! I used to tell people that my hobby was watching Netflix, but after Covid, I’m over that. I like to drink coffee and read on the porch early on a Saturday morning. My guilty pleasure is magazines. I could spend $50 at the store and still not get all the magazines I want to read and a hardcopy always beat the digital. I do all of the above with my best sidekick. My son. And sometimes we let the crazy poodle hang with us, too. I love my friends and family fiercely, and I could not make it through life without my tribe!
